Our Faith Story
Overcoming Through Faith in Florissant, MO, is a Christ-centered faith-based ministry led by founder Franky Johnson, providing weekly blogs, virtual Bible studies, prayer support, and online counseling to a global audience since 2010.
The heart behind this ministry traces back to my own journey. For a long time, I found myself caught up in the motions of religious tradition, attending church and learning the right words but wondering why true peace and freedom seemed out of reach. I saw a similar longing in friends and neighbors - people sitting just inches away in the pews, quietly wrestling with the same questions I did. That yearning for something deeper is what stirred this ministry to life.
It was not until I truly understood what God accomplished through Jesus Christ - that my relationship with Him was meant to be personal, not just ritual - that things changed for me. This transformation freed me from empty routine and opened my eyes to a life of faith marked by clarity, hope, and the genuine belonging that comes with knowing who I am in Christ.
Now, I share that story not as someone with all the answers, but as someone who still believes in asking honest questions and seeking truth. For many years, my spiritual life felt like following a checklist - doing what I thought God required, yet still feeling empty and burdened by religious expectations. It was during a quiet season of deep searching and honest reflection that God opened my eyes to the truth of what Jesus accomplished for me.
I realized that being in Christ was not about keeping up appearances or traditions, but about embracing the freedom and love freely given through His sacrifice. This revelation changed everything, granting me a peace and confidence I had never known before.
Now, my greatest joy comes from helping others shed that old weight of religion and find new life in a true relationship with Jesus. As founder of Overcoming Through Faith, I walk this road daily - encouraging each person to discover who they truly are in Christ and to walk boldly in the freedom that the Gospel promises to everyone who believes.
